My boyfriend asked me why I had so many scars on my knees and I had to think for a minute. I said "I remember always having scabs on my knees as a kid. I played hard and always had skinned knees from falling and sports". Then I burst out laughing because one specific "accident" popped in my head. Ya see, this one time they were flushing the hydrant on the corner of my street. I was riding bikes with my neighborhood friend and she dared me to ride my bike though the blasting water. Almost never turning down a dare, as an eight year olds mentality typically works, I did it. I pedaled right into the powerful force and it spewed me off my bike-HARD. I couldn't even get up. My friend had to ride her bike to my house and get my mom. That's just one way I remember getting skinned knees as a kid that contributed to my lifelong learning scars. NEVER RIDE YOUR BIKE THROUGH A FLUSHING HYDRANT!
